Xavier Debontride has been a journalist since 1990. This 50-year-old from Rennes is an economics and political science grad who worked for the French economic press (L’Usine Nouvelle, Les Echos, LCI, TV5 Monde) for over a decade before settling in Rennes in 2002. He was regional correspondent for a number of national publications (La Gazette des Communes, Le Moniteur du BTP, L’Express, etc.), then was appointed editor-in-chief of Place Publique Rennes/Saint-Malo magazine in 2003, remaining until it closed in March 2016. Xavier Debontride takes a keen interest in economic and regional issues as well as urban questions in the broad sense. He chairs many conferences and debates on these topics.
